I Hate It!

You want to know what I hate? Moving. I hate moving. I hate packing all the boxes up and taking them away in a truck. You know what I love? Unpacking. It's like getting a whole bunch of gifts! We are moving in a couple of weeks. As I pack I'm finding things to sell at a yard sale. Unfortunately the keep boxes out number the sell boxes. I wish it was the other way around. I only have one box of books to sell and about four to keep. Also, I've only found two games so far to sell. I'm not even halfway done with the game closet though, so hopefully I'll find some more I can bear to part with. While I was in the game closet I realized that I need a refresher course on how to play Mah Jongg. It's been to long since I played and I was never very good to begin with. I remember that I enjoyed it, though. So, we are moving to Sun Valley which is by Sparks and Reno. I need to get the kids enrolled in that school and figure out how I'm going to get their school uniforms. I don't know if I have to buy them from the school, or if I can get them anywhere. The lady I need to talk to won't be in the office until next week, so I really don't know much about anything yet. We'll be close to the school, so we may walk most days while it's still nice. I'll have to see how long it takes us. If I remember right the school is about 4 blocks away. School is starting before our vacation to Indiana, so we don't get to go. I don't want them to miss that many days, and since our vacation was supposed to last a couple weeks it isn't feasible do take it. I'm really bummed about it, but I'll get there sometime. It's been 4 years since I've been back in Indiana and I miss it, but Nevada feels like home. I guess home is where you hang your hat. I've lived in Indiana, Utah, Idaho, and Nevada. They all have pros and cons, but I've enjoyed myself in all those places. Anyway, Sun Valley looks like a nice place for us. It's closer to Derek's job and we'll save lots of gas. Plus the rent is cheaper than this apartment I'm in now. I'm looking forward to it and also not enjoying the packing.

Yay for moving! Sorta. I hear on you packing. I actually don't really mind packing. I don't really love to unpack. It's like, "I just went through all the trouble to put you in a box...now you want me to take you out?!"

So Derek doesn't work in Carson City anymore? Is he still managing a 5 Buck Pizza place or is he doing something different?

So just think of this as an adventure. I like moving...atleast the packing and getting rid of stuff, and the unpacking and reorganizing part. Also meeting new people and think of how they remind me of people I know. The part I do not like is the leaving of family and friends, but I guess you won't be too far away. And if I ever get up your way....hahaha.
So look forward to the move and getting to know new people. Love, MOM

I don't blame you, I am not a big fan of either part, the packing or the unpacking, I still have so much of that to do since we moved on the 25th. Perhaps the most annoying thing is getting all the right organizational tools to make things fit and work in the new place like they used to in the old one, and the start up costs that come with moving, like the utility set up fee, or the need for a new mop or broom. I am hoping this is our last move for awhile though! I hope yours will be too :) Good luck, and have a blast back home in Indiana, hope the humidity isn't too bad for ya, it's bad enough here lately so maybe that means it's better there.

I've moved five times in the last four or five years! I'm so glad not to have to do it anymore! I'm glad you are excited about the move. Plus Im close so I can come help unpack stuffs. :D

I hate the packing and the actual moving part of everything. But I loved when we used to move a lot, always to something bigger and better. It was a way to force me to go through my junk and throw things out. I've lived here far too long -- almost 9 years. And I have the junk to prove it!

So -- when will we get to see pics of your new place?
