Emmy's "Victorian Style" Necklace

check out this necklace i made for emmy. i think it turned out pretty good. i got the idea from another blog, but i didn't follow the directions. i just sorta made up my own. there is a clasp in the back, but i used elastic string, so emmy can pull it over her head if she wants.

Stop Picking-On People

am i the only one who has never been a victim of internet bashing? i hear, or read, about other people who get comments on their blog or on facebook about what a terrible person they are, or how could they do such and such. even in the real world i've never been a target. at least, not that i know of. the only thing i can come up with is that people do this sort of thing out of jealousy, and since there's no reason for people to be jealous of me i've never been a target. i guess i'm glad that i haven't been.

Toads

i found a really cool website today. toadilytoads.com. i'm not crazy about toads, but i really enjoyed learning about them. my sister recently caught a toad and was doing some research about it, which then made me want to research. now i want a vegetable garden with rock garden and water feature and some toad houses. oh, if i ever get a house with a yard...
i think what sold me on wanting toads was the idea of the toad houses. the ones that i saw were so cute! of course even a clay pot overturned would work. that's probably what i would have to do.

Andrew's Party

we had quite the turnout. many of andrew's cousins were able to come and a few kids from church came. they played games, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream. here are the presents that andrew got.

aunt heather showed up in time for cake and ice cream.

ivan, eleanor, and sydney were there. they are friends from church. somehow i forgot to get a picture of eleanor.

here's a close up of the cake. i tried really hard and this is the best i could do. it's supposed to look like a giant lego.

it was fun, even with all the crying and fighting and temper tantrums.

Andrew Turned 5!

our little boy turned 5 today! we went to nana and grampa's house. they are derek's parents. my parents: gram and grandad, aunt heather and uncle dan, uncle ira and aunt emily, and uncle kurtis and his girlfriend: jenny also came. we ate ham and mashed potatoes. aunt emily made these dinosaurs for andrew. he was very excited.


the striped one is daddy and the plaid type one is andrew.
